Osprey Schedule Highlights
  • Daily swim lessons and free swim
  • A full day of scheduled activities with their group, including PE, gymnastics, Imagination Station, 自然, junior woodcraft, 烹饪, and more!
  • Participation in camp-wide activities and Special Thursdays.
Junior Woodworking
Children learn basic woodworking skills starting with simple projects. Students demonstrate problem-solving skills in the use of materials and gain an appreciation for wood as a creative medium.

Physical Education & 体育

Instruction, emphasizing enjoyment and personal growth, is given in soccer, whiffle ball, basketball, kickball, and various other sports. Depending on the age level, other games (with instruction as well as participation) are also introduced. We value variety as different games are introduced, and we emphasize sportsmanship, positive peer relationships, and a healthy perspective on sports. Our afternoon Free Choice sports program correlates with the morning classes and enables the camper to choose a sport of particular interest and/or enhance skills and techniques in a participatory setting. The program has ample facilities, including four athletic fields, an archery range, and two gymnasiums.

Imagination Station
Using various new thematic ideas each week, Imagination Station takes campers into worlds they may only read about. Using stories and acting, the children build on ideas from each other, the activity directors, and the counselors to create an imaginative world of joy and fun.

音乐 & Creative Movement
Led by a trained music teacher, campers explore music-making and creative movement through learning finger-plays, action songs, singing games, and dances. The activities invite children to discover ways to connect with language, their hands and feet, their imagination, and with their classmates.

艺术
Four art rooms, each directed by a trained art teacher, are available for campers to enjoy painting, jewelry making, printing, macramé, 卷边, graphics, and tie-dying, to name a few. Cartooning, sketching, and drawing provide additional challenges. Creativity, individual effort, and personal growth are emphasized.

Ceramics & Pottery
During each session, all campers are able to create and glaze ceramic/pottery pieces. The potter’s wheel is available during Challenge classes and Free Choice. All hand-built and wheel-thrown projects are glazed and fired in our kiln.

Nature Exploration
Renbrook offers numerous opportunities for campers to become involved in understanding and delighting in the environment, making full use of our 75-acre outdoor classroom. Through creative individual and group activities, campers are introduced to the diverse aspects of their world. Whether they are hiking the trails, exploring through the brook, or cruising the pond in our rowboats, when they come to Nature at the Pond, they are immediately immersed in a habitat of dragonflies, bullfrogs, cray鱼, 鱼, and plant species. Nature Exploration invites your child to gain a genuine appreciation for the natural wonders the world has to offer.
